OUR PRIVACY POLICY

 

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT:

 

Modern Roofs Ltd, will hold information about our clients, including names, addresses, contact details & the nature of the works undertaken. 
We may, if required, share this information with other contractors working on behalf of Modern Roofs at the time of the works being carried out. We never hold any banking details or share any of your information with 3rd party marketing companies. 

 

We store paper copies of the works carried out as per GDPR law. 

 

We adhere to the guidelines of The Confederation of Roofing Contractors and the Consumer Protection Act and will not pass any of your personal information to a third party without your consent, unless there is a clear public interest of duty to do so, who are in turn subject to a duty of confidentiality.

For the purpose of keeping our website and social media platforms up to date, we reserve the right to use publicly, any photo's collected both prior and post work completed on any type of property that doesn't come under the secret services act &/or protected for government safety reasons. We will not share any image that will infringe upon your privacy rights. If you do not wish for us to use photo's of your property to highlight our work across our social platforms &/or website, you will need to request this via email to: modernroofs@live.co.uk 

 

WHY WE COLLECT YOUR DATA:

 

The basis for processing & storing personal data fall under one of the following categories:


•For the provision of fulfilling our contractual obligations.

•To keep any and all guarantees live for the duration of the specified term. 

•For ease of future communications. 

•To satisfy GDPR laws and regulations. 

•Photographs of work to responsibly showcase our work to gain future customers.

We may also use the information we keep to analyse trends, or to audit our performance. This enables us to monitor and improve the quality of service that we offer you.

 

We retain all data in accordance with the recommendations made in law and keep these records for a number of years as specified by GDPR laws. 

If any data we hold is inaccurate, this will be corrected promptly upon request. In certain circumstances you can request that we erase your data which we will do where this would not prevent us meeting our legal and regulatory obligations. Our paper records are destroyed after the legal required period has elapsed in accordance with the law. Our computerised records are protected by encrypted, online security measures. 

 

Our secure website is powered by WIX who have their own privacy & data policy assuring a commitment to protecting all visitors to the website of their privacy.

OUR COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE:

 

Should you have cause for complaint, it is always our policy to advise you resolve this with ourselves as per our/your contract outlined on the reverse of the payment invoice you received upon completion of the contracted works and viewable below. If you are not satisfied with the agreed solution to your complaint, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, namely The Confederation of Roofing Contractors, whom we are members of, to protect your rights.

CONDITIONS OF TRADING

 

  1.   All tenders are strictly net unless otherwise stated or agreed.

  2.   Value Added Tax will be charged at the current rate applicable.

  3.   Unless otherwise stated, MODERN ROOFS LTD assume free use of the following attendances provided by others (please note this section does not apply to private or domestic properties)

 

(i) 110 volt electricity supply.

(ii) Access ladders, safety rails to roof perimeters, crawler boards, and access scaffolding. All to comply with relevant health and safely at work regulations.

(iii) Site storage area for materials and plant.

(iv)Protection of work from other trades etc.

(v) Disposal of debris from central point on site.

(vi) Site welfare facilities.

(vii) Mechanised hoisting to roof level.

(viii) Unloading of our materials, in our absence from site.

(ix) Safe storage of materials on site against theft, damage etc. to be responsibility of customer.

 

 

     4. Material delivery dates are advised in good faith, but Modern Roofs Ltd cannot be held responsible for contract delays due to late deliveries of materials, whether specified, or not, by the client/architect etc.

 

     5. Delays/standing time, due to other trades affecting Modern Roofs Ltd Progress of Works, will be charged at agreed day rates. 

 

     6. Tenders are for a period of  30 days unless otherwise stated.

 

     7.  It is the responsibility of the client to safeguard all fixtures and fittings including anything that is stored or standing below the roof or  roofs to be attended to.

 

    8. Existing roof drainage is assumed to be adequate, unless otherwise advised at the time of quotation. Standing water does not affect the new systems performance or guarantee.

 

   9. Existing roof decking is assumed to be in good condition, unless otherwise advised or discovered at the time of inspection.

 

  10. Every endeavour will be made to ensure no damage will be caused to the fabric and contents of the building. Due to previous  poor installation or rainwater penetration, plasterboard ceilings may become loose or fall during re-roofing works. Modern Roofs  Ltd cannot be held responsible should this occur. It is the policy of Modern Roofs Ltd to replace all areas of chipboard roof deck,  prior to new roof coverings, with 19mm thick WBP ply to conform to building regulations and to obtain an insurance guarantee.

 

   11. All roofs completed or part completed, are the sole property of Modern Roofs Ltd, who have right to access said roofs and materials until these goods or services are paid for. In the event of non-payment, Modern Roofs Ltd may redeem roots and  materials at any time, and cannot be held responsible for any damage or water ingress caused by doing so.

 

    12. All invoices are to be paid within 30 days of issue. After a period of longer than 30 days, interest will be charged from the date of issue at current monthly rate of 3%, or more if bank rate is higher, unless there is a genuine fault or unforeseen hold up on completion.

 

     13. Due to present economic situation, any job over £4,000 will be subject to interim payments.

 

     14. PLEASE NOTE: MODERN ROOFS LTD ARE A FULLY INSURED COMPANY. SHOULD DAMAGE OR INJURY TO THIRD PARTIES OR PROPERTY OCCUR. PLEASE CHECK THIS WITH ALL OTHER COMPANIES FOR YOUR OWN PEACE OF MIND  AND SECURITY, AND THAT A VALID COPY OF THE POLICY CAN BE PRODUCED ON REQUEST.
